for a fun day of golf to support the
Boy Scouts of America - Troop 967 of Buda, Texas This year's Driving Fore Scouts Golf Classic benefits the Boy Scouts of America - Troop 967 of Buda, Texas. Troop 967, sponsored by the United Methodist Church of Buda, has been serving the Buda/Kyle area for six years now developing leaders for the next generation. Troop 967 participated in the annual Boy Scouts Summer Camp held this year in Colorado and this tournament was designed to help defray at least the travel cost of the boys that were able to go, and to help purchase a new trailer for the troop. This years format was a 4-man Scramble, and we had eleven teams come out and brave the heat! Thanks to all of our players and to our scouts and scouters who helped out with the event. We raised over $1000, all of which goes directly to Troop 967. We had a great time and look forward to next year's event. This year we had three special events - one before and two during the tournament. Congratulations to the winners and a special thanks to all those who gave to the scouts on our special holes - especially those five groups that had a hole-in-one! (who says money can't buy happiness! - you should have seen the smiles) The long drive contest on the range was won by Ryan Zimmerman with a 306 yard shot straight into the wind! Great shot Ryan!
